Powering On and Connecting to the Network

To power on, press and hold the red power key until the screen lights up.

To power off, press and hold the red power key until the screen shuts down.

To connect to the satellite network, power the handset on while outside with a clear view of the sky. Make sure the antenna is extended and pointing towards the sky. The Inmarsat satellites are in geostationary orbit above the Earth's equator, so a clear view of the southern sky is recommended while in the Northern Hemisphere. The handset will get its position from a GPS satellite first and then connect to the Inmarsat network.

When the screen displays 'Inmarsat' in the top left, you are connected to the satellite network. You'll need at least two signal bars in order to make and receive calls.

Placing a Call from the IsatPhone

To make a call, enter the full international number for all calls. Dial (+) - (Country Code) - (Area Code) - (Telephone Number). Then press the green 'Call' key. The same green ‘Call’ key also answers the phone when it rings. You must be connected to the Inmarsat network to receive calls. To end a call, press the red key.

Emailing Your IsatPhone

To send an email to your IsatPhone, use your IsatPhone email address. Your IsatPhone email address can be found in the Key Information section of the Activation Confirmation Notification you received when your service was activated.

There is no charge to receive these emails. You may also send a message to the phone by visiting http://inmarsat.com/sms and clicking the Send a Free Message link at the top of the page.

 US (+1) Telephone Number

Your US based phone number can be found in the Key Information section of the Activation Confirmation Notification you received when your service was activated.

Airtime Check and Renew

To check your airtime balance, dial '591' from your Inmarsat handheld phone. You can also press *106# while connected to the network to have your airtime balance displayed as text on your IsatPhone.
